Our story

The Luck Group was founded on legacy, love for the outdoors, and a deep commitment to community.

Sidney D. Tyler and his father, Sidney “Luck” Tyler — a Father & Son Duo bonded by fishing trips, hunting adventures, and a passion for helping others. “Luck,” as many knew him, was more than an outdoorsman. He was a proud Hunter, a devoted Firefighter honored with the 30-Year Golden Service Axe, a Deacon, a husband, and a father.

When he passed in 2014, he left behind more than memories — he left a mission.

In 2017, Sidney D. Tyler and his wife Altheia Tyler brought that mission to life by founding The Luck Group (a.k.a. The Luck Association) in his honor. What began as family tradition is now a growing nonprofit built to introduce youth and families to the healing power of the outdoors.

Through fishing, archery, hiking, camping, and conservation, we create hands-on experiences that build confidence, self-health, motivation, and lifelong skills.
